AI-use statement
Wholetally uses generative AI in a few clearly marked places. This statement explains which, what data is used, and its limits. It is part of our transparency under the GDPR and the EU AI Act.
1. Where we use AI
- Ask and Explain: answering questions you type about your statistics and explaining changes in a chart.
- AI funnels: suggesting funnel steps from your own pages and events. You review and save them yourself.
- Weekly summary: a short written summary in the optional weekly report email.
AI-generated text is labelled as such in the dashboard and in emails. The AI report (which AI crawlers and assistants send traffic) is ordinary counting, not generated by AI.
2. What data the AI receives
- Your question or the chart you asked about.
- Aggregated statistics needed to answer: counts, page paths, sources, countries, event and goal names, revenue totals.
- Never: visitor-level records, IP addresses, daily hashes, your email address, API tokens or payment details.
Don’t type personal data into AI questions. If your page paths or event names contain personal data, they could be included; that is why the acceptable use policy forbids sending it.
3. Providers
Requests go through OpenRouter, Inc. (USA) to the model host, currently OpenAI models hosted by Microsoft Azure. OpenRouter’s terms don’t allow using prompts or answers for training unless the account opts in; we haven’t opted in. Our API requests set OpenRouter’s zero-data-retention routing flag so eligible requests go only to endpoints that advertise ZDR. We are reviewing EU-region routing. See the sub-processor list for transfer safeguards.
We don’t use your data to train or fine-tune AI models.
4. Limits
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or overconfident. The numbers in the dashboard are the source of truth; check AI text against them.
- The AI doesn’t make decisions about individuals and isn’t used for profiling.
- AI is never needed to use the core analytics. Ask, Explain, AI funnel suggestions and the AI weekly summary run only when you use them; leave them unused and no prompts are sent.
5. Credits and spending limits
AI use is measured in credits (one credit per started block of 4,000 tokens). Plans include a monthly number of credits; extra packs can be bought. Daily and monthly spending limits protect against runaway use. See the terms of service, section 6.
